The Benilde Central Student Government (CSG), Leaders and Diplomacy (LEAD), and Debate Society (DebSoc) launches the “Leaders In the Making: A MUN Training,” a two-day workshop that focuses on skill improvement and confidence building. This will be held on June 2-3, 2017, at the 5th floor Auditorium, Duerr Hall, Taft Campus, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Although primarily offered to incoming 19th Benilde Model United Nations (BMUN) delegates, this workshop is open to all interested Benildeans from all degree programs who are willing to know more about Model United Nations (MUN).
Leaders In The Making: A MUN Training is the first collaborative project by De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s CSG, LEAD, and DebSoc that will offer speech and writing seminars that aim to enhance the key competencies that delegates will be needing as they engage themselves in debates and discussions in a MUN conference. The first day of the workshop will provide tips on how to optimize rhetorical devices and enhance speaking skills, followed by discussions on the basics of writing position and resolution papers on the second day, that will be beneficial to participants of different MUN conferences.
BenildeMUN is a pioneer MUN conference in the country that exercises the potential of its participants in writing, public speaking, debates, and negotiations. This workshop shall assist delegates on how to thrive in speeches and lobbying, and to seamlessly share their sentiments in front of their audience. Additionally, the position paper and resolution paper writing workshops will prepare delegates in the submission of position papers prior to the conference, for it has been an integral part of the simulation each year.
Delegates may opt to join either of the workshops rendered; although, all participants are invited and are highly encouraged to attend to both days.
